Gods, Mortals, Ruin
Palustris came from a secluded forest (Shadowood) in the feywild that housed a temple of life and nature of which we was a guardian. He used to enjoy quiet walks through his favorite groves and hollows that he was entrusted to protect. One particularly barren winter, when resources were especially scarce, a horde of orcs seeking fuel for their winter fires started to attack the forest Palustris loved so much. Palustris valiantly and courageously fought to repel the dark intruders. But he was one against too many and failed to keep Shadowood and his temple safe. The orc leader, being particularly fond of cruelty, choose to spare Palustris’ life so that the knowledge of his loss would rot at his core, like a slow poison always giving him grief. As a tribute to one of the forest inhabitants he failed to protect, when Palustris chooses human form he will often take on the guise of a young maiden that used to dwell in his forest. Now Palustris wanders the wild with a quite anger, in search of a new purpose; always carrying the spirit of Shadowood within him.
